Over the past month the club has been continuously monitoring the situation and in recent weeks, following Government and RFU guidelines, we have started to put plans in place to protect the club and its members. We have attempted to continue ‘business as usual’ for as long as possible, however the Government and RFU have now give specific guidance on the issues relating to our area of activity.

Newbold on Avon RFC is now in its 125th year and celebrations have been going on and are still planned for this summer, but it is essential that we take these steps to protect our players, members, staff, volunteers and the community we serve as well as to ensure we as a Club have a strong and stable future when this crisis has passed.

Following discussions within the Clubs Management Team, the following decisions have been made and steps will be followed:

1.    All Mini and Juniors and Colts activities will be suspended immediately and until further notice. This includes games, training and social events.

2.    All Senior Rugby activities will be suspended immediately and until further notice. This includes games, training and social events. Currently the RFU have given a date of 14th April, however we must be prepared for this date to move out as the situation develops.

3.    All Club Tour plans will remain in place, however there is a high possibility that planned tours may be postponed or cancelled. This decision must be made by the Tour Operator under guidance from the Government.

4.    The Club is now closed to all members and will only open for those events currently planned and still going ahead, however Government guidance may change at any moment causing remaining events to be postponed or cancelled. Please contact the Club Manager is you have an event planned.

5.    The Club will continue to take bookings for future events until otherwise instructed by the Government.

Bearing the above in mind, it is now more important than ever to support your club. Please bear with us, support us and ensure you care for yourselves and your friends and family around you.

Please follow the Government and NHS guidelines available to us all and try where possible to support your fellow community members to get through this and allow us all to return to normal as soon as possible.

Thank-you for your patience and understanding and again, please take care
